On the 6^th May 2025 at 11am, Canvey Island Town Council proudly collaborated with Castle Point Borough Council for the 80th Anniversary of VE Day.

The event commenced at the War Memorial at the Paddocks with a service, and the raising of the 80^th Anniversary Flag.  Following the outdoor service, members of the public and guests were welcomed inside the Paddocks for tea and cake, which was a perfect addition to the wartime exhibition and entertainment provided.

The collaboration between Canvey Island Town Council and Castlepoint Borough Council, has been extremely positive.  The Town Mayor said ‘We are grateful to Castle Point Borough Council for all the work and communication between both authorities to help make this event a great success. I would also like to thank everyone involved that helped make this important event truly memorable’.
