Invitation to Canvey Island Armed Forces Day
Canvey Island Town Council is organising its’ annual Canvey Island Armed Forces Day on Saturday, 27th June to celebrate the contribution of the armed forces in the community.
The parade will start from Castle View School’s car park, Foksville Road from 10.30am and will march through the town centre on Furtherwick Road down to Long Road then on to the Paddocks Community Centre. There will be a 30 minute road closure on the parade route from 10.30am to 11am on the Saturday, 27th June in the town centre.
The parade will include representatives from veteran groups and individuals, Essex Marching Corps, current serving members of the armed forces, local scouts, girl guides, army cadets, youth groups and the emergency services.
A short service of celebration will be held at 11am outside at the Paddocks Community Centre War Memorial followed by an Armed Forces exhibition in Mercury Hall, in the Paddocks Community Centre.
