The New Castle Point Local Plan Pre-Submission Plan was submitted to the now Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, for examination on the 2 October 2020. The Secretary of State appointed Inspector Philip Lewis BA (Hons) MA MRTPI to conduct an independent Examination of the Local Plan.
Notice is hereby given in accordance with Regulation 25 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012, that on the 3 March 2022, Castle Point Borough Council received the Inspector’s Final report on the Examination of the New Castle Point Local Plan 2018 – 2033. The Report sets out the Inspector’s recommendations and the reasons for them and completes the examination process.
The Inspector’s Report concludes that subject to a number of main modifications, set out in the Appendix to the report, the New Castle Point Local Plan is sound, legally compliant and capable of adoption.

The Inspector’s Report is available for public inspection of the Council’s website: https://www.castlepoint.gov.uk/examination-information
It will also be available from Thursday 10 March at Castle Point Council Offices, Kiln Road, Benfleet, Essex, SS7 1TF, by appointment, during normal opening hours.
