St Vincent De Paul Society receive grant from Canvey Island Town Council.

Canvey Island Town Council recently awarded £500.00 as part of its’ grants scheme to the St. Vincent De Paul Society for the costs to run the vehicles for the distribution of food around Canvey Island.

Cllr Peter May, Town Mayor of Canvey Island Town Council said “Congratulations to the St Vincent De Paul Society on their successful application for grant funding. The Town Council are pleased to be helping an organisation that works tirelessly to deliver food packages to some of the more vulnerable members of our community. Their commitment to ensuring all have access to food is commendable and it is a pleasure to be able to present this funding to such a worthwhile organisation.”

If there are other community or charity organisations working on Canvey Island who feel they would benefit from the grants scheme, they are asked to contact the Town Council.  Every year the Town Council sets aside money within the budget for grants, aimed to benefit people and projects on Canvey Island.
