The evening will consist of a series of short presentations about being a Special Constable; the various roles available within the Special Constabulary and the recruitment process. There will be an opportunity after the presentations to ask any questions.

The Event takes place on Wednesday 4th August at 6.30pm – the session will take place via Microsoft Teams so please ensure you have a device that you are able to download the app onto.

Following the Full Council meeting, held on Monday 3rd September, Canvey Island Town Council have agreed to fund and approve the recruitment of five Community Special Constables to patrol the streets and assist with anti-social behaviour. The recruitment for this is now open and anyone interested in being recruited and trained is asked to contact Essex Police.
Once recruited and fully trained the Special Constables will only be funded by the Town Council when they are stationed on Canvey Island. Each Special Constable will volunteer a minimum of 16 hours a month once the training is complete.
