Canvey Island Rugby Club receive grant towards a replacement cooker.

Canvey Island Town Council recently gave £500 as part of their grants scheme to Canvey Island Rugby Club to fund a replacement cooker in the clubhouse.

Cllr John Anderson, Town Mayor of Canvey Island Town Council said “Congratulations to Canvey Island Rugby Club on their successful application for funding. The club are the only rugby club in the Castle Point Borough and the Town Council is happy to be able to help enhance their facilities through the grants scheme.”

If there are other community or charity organisations working on Canvey Island who feel they would benefit from the grants scheme, they are asked to contact the Town Council.  Every year the Town Council sets aside money within the budget for grants, aimed to benefit people and projects on Canvey Island.  Applications will be considered for financial assistance from organisations towards a specific project, item or activity which is non-commercial.  For more information, please contact the Town Clerk or download an application form and further details from the Town Council’s website. www.canveyisland-tc.gov.uk
