Canvey Island Town Council presented a cheque for £300 this week through their grants scheme to Island Boys & Girls Football Club to go towards their refreshment costs for their recent Santa Fun Walk. The Football Club also received a certificate to confirm their agreement to work in partnership with Canvey Island Town Council.

Councillor Joan Liddiard explained: “Our Town Council wants to work closer with our Canvey Island community and these initiatives are ways that we can do this. Congratulations to Island Boys & Girls Football Club on their successful application for grant funding. The Club provides a great service to young people in our community. We look forward to working with them on joint projects in the future. We would encourage other local groups to contact the Town Council to form a partnership with us and apply to our grants scheme.”
