Canvey Island Town Council will be holding it’s Annual Town Meeting on Monday, 16th March 2015 from 6.30pm (to start at 7.00pm) in The Paddocks Centre, Hall 2, Long Road, Canvey Island. There will be presentations on the Town Council’s achievements during the last year.
The guest speaker will be Janis Gibson who will talk about the services that Castle Point Association of Voluntary Services provide, give advice and answer questions. Should you have any questions relating to the services provided by CAVS, please contact the Town Clerk prior to the meeting to ensure an answer is available on the night of the meeting.
Cllr Peter May, Chairman of Canvey Island Town Council commented: “The Town Council invites residents to attend this meeting to find out about what the Council have achieved in the past year and what our aspirations are for the future and will also have an opportunity to ask questions about any issues that affect them on the island. We look forward to seeing you there.”
This is the first year that the Town Council Chairman will be presenting, Chairman’s Award’s at it’s Annual Town Meeting. These Awards have attracted a number of nominations in two of the three categories, Citizen of the Year (over 18 years) and Community/Charity Group of the Year and trophies will be presented to the winners in each category at the meeting.
Refreshments, kindly donated by McDonalds Restaurant, Northwick Park Road, Canvey Island, will be available before the meeting starts and local partners will have information stalls including Essex Police, Neighbourhood Watch, Citizens Advice Bureau, CISCA House, NHS 111, Jobcentre and Environment Agency.
