GMD Cut Price and Island Fabrics, two local business on Canvey Island are the joint winners of the Canvey Island Town Council's first Christmas shop front competition.
Eighteen businesses in total took part in the Christmas Shop Front Competition. It was free to enter and the aim was to get businesses involved in the lead up to Christmas and promote a business community spirit on the island. There was one cash prize of £100 donated by the Knightswick Shopping Centre and £20 Morrisons vouchers which will be split between the two prize winners.
Joan Liddiard, Chairman of Canvey Island Town Council said " We had a great responses especially given that it is the first year that we have run the competition. Congratulations to the winners and thank you to all the businesses who took part. It was a tough decision and in the end we decided that there were two winners. Thank you to the Knightswick Shopping Centre and Morrisons for kindly donating the prizes."
