Canvey Island Town Council together with the RSPB, held its 2nd Wildlife Event at the RSPB West Canvey Marshes on Saturday 28th May 2011. This event was held to help people appreciate the wildlife our Island has to offer.
Special guest host Mike Dilger gave visitors a tour of the marshes providing information on local flora and forna. We had representatives in the main marquee from RSPB, Bug Life, Essex Wildlife Trust, Castle Point Wildlife Group along with many others.
Children enjoyed free face painting and boucy castles a particular favourite of the day being the bird warblers provided in the goody bags given out by the Town Council keeping many children and adults alike amused during the day.
Many enthusiasts have expressed their enjoyment on the day and new enthusiasts were formed.
Despite the weather the event was a resounding success and all visitors expressed that they eagerly await the next event.
